Your Contributions Keep Us Going!
by Executive Director Beth Koski

Egads – this has been a loooooooong and cold winter!! As I write this article (mid-February) we have finally experienced a couple of days with sunshine and no additional snow. It gives one great hope we are just about to turn the corner and head into springtime-like weather. I know we are all looking forward to that with eager anticipation.

We at the Arts Center are also eagerly awaiting our opening of “Les Miserables, School Edition” toward the end of February and continuing into early March. This promises to be a very special experience for those participating as well as for our regional community.

March and April also are the months we kick off our annual membership/fund drive for our upcoming fiscal year, which begins July 1st annually. I know some of you may wonder when it ever ends (our volunteers also feel this way
sometimes). Last campaign continued through the year until the end of December due to the fact we had not yet achieved our goal. Thanks to the efforts of our core committee, which addresses this very necessary effort, we were
successful! BRAVO to Scot Sinkler, Tom Picken, Judy Robson, Kim Laurello, Adele Herzog and Rob Schimmelpfennig for all the extra work they put into this. Thankfully each member of this group has already committed to working again this year to help us make our goal of $120,000 for fiscal 2004-2005.

You will all receive letters and pledge envelopes in the mail over the next couple of months. We understand some of you may have contributed as recently as last December and will wonder why you’re being approached again so soon. We ask that you consider making a pledge at this time – you can pay again later in the year, if you wish. Just make that notation on your contribution envelope. This will save you aggravation throughout the year of being sent duplicate reminders and will help save the Arts Center money caused by extra mailings.

If you have never pledged or contributed before and haven’t done so in the recent past, we encourage you to consider doing so at this time. You are on our mailing list because you have attended a performance, class or event at the Center or have requested we include you. The annual membership/fund drive comprises 20% of our annual budget and is critical to our existence. The Center has an excellent track record of generating about 60% of our budget through earned income, but we are very dependent upon your support to successfully end each year.

THANK YOU – we look forward to hearing from you soon!!
