Brassiere, girdle, dance belt – got your attention??!! These are all forms of SUPPORT – and very necessary items -- but none of the above qualifies for arts support (except for an occasional performer’s need).

We are currently conducting our annual Membership/Fund Drive for this fiscal year (July l, 2004 thru June 30, 2005) and are asking all who value the Ashtabula Arts Center to SUPPORT this effort. This annual fundraising effort firmly comprises 20% of the Center’s annual break-even budget. If every family, person and/or business on our mailing list (5,000+) would contribute at least $25.00 we would achieve our goal. That’s less than 50 cents per week – think of it!! We ask that you seriously consider jumping on this SUPPORT bandwagon – there’s room for all of you.

Throughout the year the Arts Center offers hundreds of classes and performances. It’s always a gamble on the staff’s side when something new or untried in our area is offered. Often audiences don’t show up until they’re heard via “word of mouth” that something is entertaining or worth their time. We would hope we have earned your SUPPORT by presenting quality productions consistently through the years – why not be the first to report on an offering – we strive always to do our best.

The Arts Center has a very dedicated core staff of 11 workers (3 of whom are part-time). Each and every one of these individuals goes above and beyond the call to make sure we get the job done, and get it done right. But there is absolutely no way the Arts Center could manage it’s enormous programming schedule with the SUPPORT of our
steadfast and diligent volunteers who donate thousands of hours annually to assist in our programming needs. Again, this is an area where “the more, the merrier” is the rule – you can make new friends, maybe learn new skills (or teach us a trick or two), and enjoy being a part of it all.

The bottom line – or “uplifting” sentiment (OK – I know that’s a bad pun) here is that the Ashtabula Arts Center needs your SUPPORT. We hope you might elect to participate in all the arenas I’ve discussed here – but please know whatever and whichever means you may choose to SUPPORT the AAC is important and means so very much to us all.

Thank you for your SUPPORT!!
