2928 West 13th St. Ashtabula, Ohio 44004 phone: 440-964-3396 Search This Site: Workshops: Jewelry Design Workshops with Leslie Taylor Designing Fused Gems with Leslie Taylor $65 class fee/$58.50 member rate Thursdays, July 12 & 19 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Make a handful of glass "gems" in a small kiln using frit, confetti, stringers and dichroic glass. Learn basic techniques for fusing glass into pendants, earrings, pins, tie tacks, etc. Each student will design 6-8 glass gems. Jewelry findings will be available for purchase from the instructor at the last class. The last hour of the first class is spent minding the kiln to see when the gems are fused. This is optional for students but many will want to stay and see the whole process. The Art of Wire Wrapping with Leslie Taylor $90 class fee/$81 member rate Saturday, July 26 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. Bring those fabulous fused gems you made in your class here or bring beach glass, polished stones or any other object you would like to learn to wire and create stunning jewelry. Learn the tools and techniques used to wrap wire around the glass gems using gold-filled or sterling silver wire. Included in the class fee is a 5 piece set of tools and the wire used in class. The tools are yours to take home. Decorative One Stroke Painting Workshops with Janet Regelman Based on the One Stroke Painting method made popular by Donna Dewberry, Janet’s classes are one-day workshops, each workshop completes a different project. Great for beginners! Sign up for one or all! Brushes and materials are provided. Time of all classes is 5:30 - 8:30 p.m. Pre-registration is required. Payment is required at the time of registration. May 7 Cigar Box Purse Class fee $20/$18 member rate Plus a $5 materials fee May 14 Clay Pot Lighthouse with Solar Light Class fee $20/$18 member rate Plus a $10 materials fee May 21 Clay Pot Bird Feeder Class fee $20/$18 member rate Materials fee to be announced Hair Braiding Workshop with Anzietta DiPierro Thursday, May 24 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. $12 class fee/$10.80 member rate Learn different braiding techniques, including a 3-strand French braid, a 3-strand classic braid, a 5-strand braid and variations of the 3 and 5 strand techniques. All combs and pins will be provided. The class is designed so that students sign up in pairs, with one person learning the technique while the other sits to have their hair braided. All students must have at least shoulder length hair to participate in the workshop. Pre-registration required. (440) 964-3396 INTRO TO AIRBRUSH for ages 12 & up Saturday, June 16 & 23 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. with Sandy Shelenberger $40 class fee/$36 member rate This class will introduce the art of airbrush. Basic strokes and stencil techniques will be introduced. Following demonstration, students will get to try their hand at using the airbrush and work on basic strokes. A follow-up class may be offered if there is enough interest from members of this class. TO "DYE" FOR for ages 10 & up with Meeghan Humphrey Saturday, June 30 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. $15 class fee/$13.50 member rate Use professional quality dyes and learn some of the basics of hand dyeing techniques while making cool-looking t-shirts. Meeghan will provide a variety of colors and instruction. You provide the creativity. These dyes give vibrant, permanent results. A great parent/child class. Bring with you: Three 100% cotton t-shirts in your size and 6 pairs of socks. Blends and synthetics will not take the dyes or give nice results. For socks, find as high a cotton content as you can. They don't come in 100% cotton. Think soccer socks.
