The Theatre Arts Ball is the largest annual fundraising project held by the Women’s Service League, a nonprofit organization with a mission to promote the social, economic, cultural and intellectual development of Ashtabula County.
This year’s ball is even more special because WSL is celebrating its 40th birthday this year.
WSL sponsors theatrical, cultural and social events. Money-raising projects have expanded over the years to include the addition of new programs, scholarships, financial assistance and physical expansion of the Ashtabula Arts Center. Under the guidance of the Special Gifts and Special Allocations committees, gifts to the Ashtabula Arts Center have included an outdoor art sculpture, musical equipment, tools, computer programs, and audiovisual equipment.
In addition, the WSL program has included donations to other arts-related organizations including Shea Public Auditorium, Art Education of Ashtabula Public Schools, Ashtabula Chamber Orchestra, Ashtabula Society for the Handicapped, and Happy Hearts School.
Support WSL and the Ashtabula Arts Center by making a reservation to this year’s Theatre Arts Ball. For ticket information, contact Cheri Cassady at 964-2038. Reservations are due by November 22.
