2928 West 13th St. Ashtabula, Ohio 44004 phone: 440-964-3396 Search This Site: SPRING BASKET WORKSHOPS: Posted: Tuesday, March 02, 2004 BREAD BOWL Thursday, March 25, 5:30 - 9:00 p.m. $18 Members /$20 Nonmembers Plus $20 Materials Fee (payable to the instructor)This is a wonderful wood-bottomed oval bowl, perfect for rolls or muffins on your Easter table or a spring floral arrangement. The basket features a wide band with a slotted wood buckle. Wood base measures 5 inches by 8 inches, with the body of the basket weaving 5 inches high. Pop in a napkin liner before using with the breads and wait for the compliments. BABY BACKPACK PURSE Two Thursdays, April 22 & April 29, 5:30 - 9:00 p.m. each class $36 Members / $40 Nonmembers Plus $35 Materials Fee (payable to the instructor) Weave a purse which shapes like a small backpack, flat on the back and pouched out on the front. Emphasis is in the shaping of the body of the purse. The purse employs 2-row fillers in the base and is woven in continuous weave. It measures 4 inches by 6 inches at the base, and the body of the purse weaves 6 - 7 inches high with an oval opening at the top. The woven purse body will be completed on the first night of class. On the second night of class, a fabric lid will be added to the top of the basket purse. Lids will be lined and a lightweight quilt batting will be added between the top and lining for stability. The fabric lids will be made to fit each individual basket, as well as a fabric base for inside the purse. Color-coordinated canvas straps will complete the purse. The instructor will bring an assortment of fabrics from which to choose. She will also provide all other materials necessary to compete the top, as well as a sewing machine for sewing lids. Students must stain their woven purse before the second night of the class. Please note: Because the instructor must purchase materials for each workshop in advance, all Basket Workshops must now be paid for at the time of registration, and are non-refundable.
