DECORATIVE "ONE STROKE" PAINTING BASICS
Taught by Janet Regelman

One Stroke Painting was developed by Donna Dewberry as a quick and easy technique for decorative painting. Using the thick and creamy FolkArt Paint and the specially designed FolkArt Brushes you can achieve beautiful decorative pieces without any effort. One Stroke Painting means we blend, shade and highlight all in one stroke. This technique allows you to paint on a variety of surfaces such as wood, plastic, fabric, glass and candles. Let us share with you how easy it is to paint with little strokes that graduate into wonderful flowers, foliage and critters.
CLASS I - June 18 (noon - 5:30 p.m.) OR June 19 (10 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.)
$31.50 Members / $35 Nonmembers
This class is designed to help you master the One Stroke Technique. Learn how to load your brushes properly. Practice basic strokes using the Reusable Teaching Guides. Paint a topiary on Bristol Board and complete a Birdhouse Barn Slate. Everything you need to complete your first project will be available at the class. Prepayment required.

Discover your hidden talent! Build a Sunflower on Bristol Board with step by step instructions. Paint an Ivy Vine and Five Petal Flowers on a clay pot what can be used to plant flowers or give as a gift filled with goodies. This class will be your introduction to Donna Dewberry’s wiggle leaves. Once you learn the basics of the One Stroke Technique you will be anxious to paint on more and more surfaces. So come join the fun! Prepayment required

WATERCOLOR WORKSHOP
"Petunias on a Front Porch"
Taught by John Peters
Saturday, May 15 - 9:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. (with a break for lunch)
$31.50 Members / $35 Nonmembers

Popular Mentor artist John Peters returns to the Arts Center in May for a workshop featuring petunias on a porch. John will walk students through the painting step by step. Students must bring with them a stretched 1/4 sheet of watercolor paper. For those of you unfamiliar with stretching paper. here is the process: soak paper for 15 minutes in water. Remove from water and staple to a board. Let dry on board and KEEP on board, do not remove - then bring to workshop.
The instructor also recommends bringing the following colors of paint to the workshop: olive green, French ultramarine, alizarin crimson, and any other colors you like to use. Prepayment required.
