Stringapalooza!

Join us for an evening recital featuring Suzuki students of
the Ashtabula Arts Center and special guests
The Fine Arts String Orchestra
from The Fine Arts Association, Willoughby, OH
Conducted by Dr. Carol Linsenmeier

June 12
7:00 p.m.

Admission is free!

The Suzuki program is one of the newest additions to the Arts Center’s music programs. Developed by Shinichi Suzuki of Japan, the Suzuki method focuses on training children to play music beginning at a very young age. The violinists in our recital range in age from 3 to 18 years. The guest ensemble from the Fine Arts Association in Willoughby, The Fine Arts String Orchestra, will also perform. A reception will follow. Please stay and meet our young musicians!

A Note About Suzuki Violin for Children

Instruction in violin, viola, and cello is offered at the Arts Center by Dr. Carol Linsenmeier using the nurturing teaching method developed by Dr. Shinichi Suzuki. Students may begin to study on child-sized instruments as young as 4 years of age. Teaching methods especially adapted to young children are used to help the child learn. Parents are an essential part of the learning process as they attend their child's private lessons and practice with the child at home. Students also share the joy of making music with other young musicians in Suzuki group classes which they attend in addition to their weekly 30-minute private lesson. Cost of the group lesson is $5 per week in addition to the private instruction fee.
