Directed by Douglas Eric Anderson

G. B. Theatre Brings The Biggest, Most Exciting News Story of 1925 To Life!

A court room drama based upon an actual trial that set all of America buzzing, Inherit the Wind by Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee, will keep you on the edge of your seat when the G. B. Community Theater production plays on February 24, 25, March 3, 4, 5, 9, 10, and 11. All shows begin at 8 p.m. except one Sunday matinee on March 5 that will begin at 3 p.m. On a sweltering day in July 1925, a trial began in Tennessee. At issue was a state law banning the teaching of evolution. For twelve days, Tennessee vs. John Thomas Scopes captured the nation’s attention as a media circus swept the town and carried the historical event to the world.

Inherit the Wind brings history to life once more as a leading Christian scholar and former presidential candidate, Matthew Harrison Brady and the opponent for the defense, Henry Drummond, a defender of free thought and the leading legal mind of his day, battle over the evolution vs. creationism argument.

Intense, thought-provoking and entertaining, Inherit the Wind is one of the all-time best dramas ever written for the stage!

Don’t miss it!

The Complete History of America (Abridged):
Posted: Thursday, February 16, 2006

“The Complete History of America (Abridged)”

March 24, 25, 31 April 1, 2, 6, 7, 8, 2006

Thursday, Friday and Saturday shows begin at 8 p.m. Sunday matinees begin at 3 p.m.

If you care for a good laugh or you just want to see three actors giving it their all, hurry to make your reservations now for “The Complete History of America (Abridged).”

Created by three writers, Reed Martin, Adam Long and Austin Tichenor who call themselves the Reduced Shakespeare Company, this show is satire at it’s best--a pointed, silly, intellectual, moronic, almost scholarly in its scope and often politically incorrect wacky comedy!

As the show attempts to tell the entire history of our nation in 90 minutes, you’ll witness an argument between Amerigo Vespucci and his wife over the failings of his business, ‘Maps R Us;’ a note that pre-Columbian history includes the birth of Bob Dole; a rap song about the colonization of the continent; a Salem witchhunting society that plays ‘Blame the Warlock’ and ‘Hangman;’ everyone getting high on “Monticello Gold;” the comedy team of Lewis and Clark; and so much more hilarity that you’ll sides will be aching all the way home!

Directed by Darrell Lowe, the hilarious cast will include Douglas Anderson, April Tapper and Joshua Twining.

Make your reservations today!
