Order tickets today for the children's classic “Alice in Wonderland”
July 18, 19, 20, 24, 25, 26
All shows 8 p.m. With its whimsical costumes, charming set and silly songs Straw Hat Theatre’s classic fantasy will capture the imaginations of young and old. Written by Sally Netzel with music by Beatrice Wolf, “Alice in Wonderland” is based on Lewis Carroll’s classic favorites that have been a staple on the bookshelves of children for generations. Carroll’s characters are some of the most unusual and unforgettable in children’s literature. Alice is a heroine who withstands all of her crazy adventures while remaining ever sensible and analytical, trying to reason her way out of the most unreasonable situations. When Alice tumbles down a rabbit hole she falls into a topsy-turvy world where she meets the entire band of Carroll’s beloved characters—from the Rabbit who is forever in a hurry and the Mad Hatter reciting his whacky poems, to the Cheshire Cat, Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee, the boisterous Queen of Hearts and the young Knave who has been accused of stealing her tarts!
Throughout the show, Carroll's brilliant use of wordplay, symbolism and subtle witticisms can be seen. Young children love the fantastic quality of the story and adults catch on to the many puns and jokes included in Carroll’s writings. “Alice in Wonderland” has something to offer everyone, no matter what age.
Included in the “Wonderland” cast will be: Alyx Lynham, Ariana Reed, Kaylee Rice, Mandi Lewis, Nick Cusano, Tiffani Murphy, Tom Jessup, Paige Beach, Zach Van Allen, Bev Schumann, Bill Baker, Jesslyn Watson, Joanne Beckwith, Tabitha Seames, Jennifer Giangola, Nicole Giangola, Katie Peck, Angeline Seasmes, Alaina Johnson, Stephanie Bucci, Annelise Baker, Caitlyn Dubeansky, Barb Gill, Gabby Sherbeyn, Laura Matteo, Jennifer Leonard, Lindy Erickson, Hannah Lewis, Stephanie Nizen, Sam Baker, Nathan Lowery, Regina Dubeansky, Anna Minich, Kyle Peck and Ally Jessup.
Tickets are on sale now for $10 adults, $9 seniors and $8 students/children. Tickets can be purchased by calling the Arts Center at (440) 964-3396. Tickets can also be purchased at the door if seating is available.
