Sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Ashtabula, this annual exhibit and competition is open to junior and senior high school students in the Ashtabula Area Schools and Buckeye Schools, including private and home schooled students. Entry information can be obtained by calling the Arts Center at 964-3396. All entries in the competition will be on display in the Arts Center gallery from April 6 through May 2. A reception will be held on Thursday, April 7 from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. at which time the scholarship awards will be announced. Scholarship winners will receive a certificate good for a free class at the Arts Center. Over the past several years a number of the Kiwanis Scholarship Competition winners have gone on to college careers majoring in art and often with substantial scholarship money. By providing this opportunity for local students, the Kiwanis Club is adding to the skills and experiences of the students, as well as helping them to qualify for college scholarship dollars. Thanks to all of the Kiwanis members for their support of the Arts Center and the local visual arts students! Gallery hours are Monday - Thursday, 9-9 and Friday and Saturday, 9-5. Admission to the gallery is free.
