May Exhibit:

“Works By The Lake Shore Artists”
Our May exhibit will feature the works of The Lake Shore Artists and
will be on display May 4 - 31.
An opening reception will be held on May 5 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Light refreshments will be served.
Please stop in to see the many works of our local talented artists!
Gallery hours: Monday through Thursday 9 AM- 9 PM
Friday and Saturday 9 AM - 4 PM
Admission to the gallery is free.

“After School Discovery and Celebrate”

On display June 6 - 28.
Opening reception: Tuesday, June 6 from 6 - 7 p.m.
Admission to the exhibit and reception is free.

After School Discovery is a program for children in grades 1-6 which promotes enrichment opportunities beyond the normal school curricula. ASD has also begun offering a new program called Celebrate! This program focuses on improving students' achievement in math and reading, helping students with homework, creating positive attitudes, offering physical activities and new arts programs.

The artwork presented in the exhibit is representative of all of the facets of After School Discovery's programming. We will present self-portraits from the "Self Exploration" and "Graffiti" classes in the Celebrate program; Canopic Jars and Haniwa figures created in the "Ancient Civilizations" class at Plymouth Elementary School; tiles created in the "Math Mania" gifted and talented class and more. All of the artwork included in the exhibit was created in classes that are designed to reinforce and enhance curriculum in the various schools.
