VOLUNTEER NEWS AND NOTES:
|
Posted: Wednesday, June 25, 2003
Well, here we are, back for another summer of activities at the Arts Center! Let’s just hope this rain lets up sometime soon. I just heard somewhere that this has already been one of the rainiest seasons this area has ever seen. Hopefully the next few months will bring us more sunny days and higher temperatures!
In any case, no matter what the weather, “the show will go on” here at the Arts Center. We have five theater shows on tap this summer, meaning that the stage will be in use every single weekend of June, July and August. Audiences for “Krazy Kamp” in June were outstanding, and we’re hoping that the rest of the summer will continue on the same course.
We’d like to say “Thank You” to all of the volunteers who already helped us out with the first two shows of the Straw Hat season, and an advance thanks to all of those who are planning to help out later this summer. We know that this particular time of year is a busy one for everyone - weddings, graduations and open houses, family reunions, picnics and many other activities seem to fill the weekends quickly at this time of year. (In looking at my calendar this morning, I realized that I only have one full weekend between now and the beginning of September without something on the schedule! Whew!) We greatly appreciate your willingness to give up what free time is left over in your schedule to come and help us out.
In addition, we’d also like to say a collective “congratulations” to this year’s graduating high school seniors. Many of our teenage volunteers, actors and dancers are leaving for colleges near and far this fall. A huge thank you from the entire staff for all of your help and dedication to the Arts Center over the years! We have enjoying getting to know you and watch you grow with us here, and we wish you the best of luck for whatever the future may bring you. We certainly hope you all will stop in to say hello whenever you’re back in town - even though it means we may try to rope you into doing something for us once again!
