Remembering a Friend

By now most of you have likely heard about the July 9 motorcycle accident which took the life of Ashtabula resident Tim Boyce. Tim was, among other things, a dedicated Arts Center volunteer who never failed to show up and help out with whatever we needed - even though he would pretend to “complain” each time we informed him about an upcoming Kids Day Out, we could always count on him to show up and pitch in. He would fold programs or newsletters, usher at shows, build sets or help on crews ... many times Tim would just drop in the Center to say hello to the staff and wind up staying for hours helping with whatever project we had going on at the time!

Tim’s volunteer efforts also stretched far beyond the Arts Center, traveling many times to perform disaster relief in countries far away from this corner of the world. A retired firefighter, Tim was quick to help out his fellow man, even if it meant putting his own life at risk to do so.

Beyond everything, Tim was the type of person who could light up the room with a smile or laugh, and always made whatever he was dong fun for the whole group. His endless devotion to the Arts Center and unwavering friendship to all those who walked through its doors will be greatly missed and certainly never forgotten.
