Volunteer News and Notes - March/April 2003:
Posted: Friday, February 28, 2003

OK, is it spring yet?? If you’re like us here at the Arts Center, you’re ready to see the snow melt away and the warmer temperatures finally hit the Northcoast. This winter has certainly been a chilly one, and I know I for one have started dreaming of the summer days when you can comfortably sit outside on a clear evening without wearing seven layers of clothes.

Well, if you aren’t afraid of the cooler weather, we invite you to join us for the 1st ever RUN FOR THE ARTS on Saturday, March 15. This event has been organized to help raise money for the Arts Center, while also commemorating our 50th anniversary. This is the first year for the event, and it’s a new experience for many of us here at the Center. Most likely we will be needing volunteers to help out with getting runners signed in and situated, and also supplying them with water at the end of the race. More details on the Run for the Arts will be available shortly, but if you are interested in helping out, please give us a call, or just stop down on race day to see what needs to be done.

A big thank you goes out to all of the volunteers who helped Meeghan with Kids Days in December, January and February. Even though the weather prevented some of the kids from making it to the last event in February, our volunteers still braved the snow to help out the kids who could come in.

Thanks also to the servers, cooks, and cleanup crews of February’s dinner theater performances. These two weekends of shows were very busy and hectic, and we definately appreciate all those who came out to give a helping hand in the kitchen and dining areas.

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
