Can you believe that the holidays are almost upon us again? I don’t know if it’s just me, but it seems as though this summer (what we had of one, anyway) flew by in a heartbeat. Before long we’ll be hanging holiday decorations in the gallery and preparing to usher in a new year - one that is sure to be just as full as always with workshops, productions and other events. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU to our Halloween Kids Day Out volunteers. This event is always super busy - not to mention super messy - and this year we once again had a tremendous staff of volunteers to help kids with their slime, scars and other projects. We hope to see you all again in December for the next Day Out! We’d also like to thank everyone who helped out in various ways to make the 50th Anniversary Celebration such a huge success. Many, many people donated money, material goods, time and so much more to help bring the weekend's events to fruition. The Arts Center staff would also like to take this opportunity to say a belated farewell to our former Volunteer Coordinator, Sally VanAllen. As most of you have heard by now, Sally left her job at the Arts Center in September for another position. In her years with us, she was a wonderful asset not only in attaining new volunteers and keeping everyone updated on new events and volunteer opportunities at the Arts Center, but she genuinely cared about making sure those who donated their time to us were well taken care of and certainly not abused. Many times she also donated her own volunteer abilities when no one else was available. We will definitely miss Sally’s drive and enthusiasm, as well as her presence in our everyday office activities - and we wish her the best of luck in her new career. |
