VOLUNTEER NEWS AND NOTES:

The most likely place to find me when the thermometer dips to the bitter extremes is curled up on the sofa with a cat or two in my lap and a stack of gardening catalogs at my side. Nothing wards off the winter chill and makes me forget the snow and ice at my door like those glossy color photographs of ripe, red tomatoes, garden herbs and masses of perfect roses. I can almost smell the fragrances emitting from the pages!

Since I began working here at the Arts Center in early November, I’ve had the pleasure of meeting many of you who have braved the cold winter winds and ventured through our doors to give us a hand. To you, let me express my undying gratitude! Thank you, thank you, thank you!! So many of you know just what needs to be done and you’ve continued to do it while I’ve been learning the who’s, what’s and where’s of the Arts Center and its programs. Now that the calendar shows that spring isn’t too far away, I hope to meet many more of you.

If you’ve never before volunteered at the Arts Center, I encourage you to give it a try! One of the things I have learned in my short time here is that the Arts Center is a great place to make new friends. We have volunteers of all ages - from children to seniors - and we need your help with so many things. Give me a call at 964-3396 or stop in and see me. We’ll learn together about the Arts Center’s programs and needs, and I’ll help you to find just which of the volunteer activities you’d most enjoy. The Arts Center wouldn’t be what it is without all of our wonderful volunteers!
